Grainger Working to Revitalize the Supply of Skilled Tradespeople in U.S.

Since 2006, Grainger and the American Association of Community Colleges have worked to provide more students access to skilled-trades jobs and technical education.

The Grainger Tools for Tomorrow scholarship program has helped technical education students across the country realize their educational goals. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students with a $2,000 scholarship and, upon successful completion of the student’s technical education program, a customized Westward toolkit.

Jim Ryan, CEO of Grainger, sits down for a one-on-one interview with Plant Services Editor in Chief Mike Bacidore to talk about the worker dearth and his company’s commitment to revitalizing the United States’ supply of skilled tradespeople.
